Description
Gulf Fritillary butterfly on Bougainvillea flower. As I was leaving the Naples Botanical Garden I saw this Gulf Fritillary butterfly flying around. I still had my camera out, so just stopped and watched. He landed on this Bougainvillea, which you don't see them on this flower very often and got a few shots of him. Hence the name, Chance Encounter.
----------
The Gulf fritillary, Agraulis vanillae (Linnaeus), is a brightly colored butterfly common across extreme southern portions of the United States.
